“Healing begins when we listen to the quiet voice of the body.”
—Dr Peter A Levine
Our earliest experiences of safety, connection, or distress are imprinted not only in our thoughts but in the tissues of our bodies. Many of these patterns were formed before we had words, shaping how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world.
The methods I use go beyond talking through problems and traditional talk therapy. When we only listen to the mind and don't include our bodies, then we run the risk of what Stephen Porges termed faulty 'neuroception': reacting as if we are at threat even when we are safe. I work to help your nervous system remember what safety feels like, supporting mindful inquiry into body based sensations alongside exploration of deeper psychological patterns and your innate capacity for regulation - creating space for parts of yourself that may have been silenced or left behind to instead be welcomed home.
Psychotherapy offers a space of safe, compassionate holding – a place where you can listen more deeply to your own inner knowing and wisdom.
I work with attuned and consented to touch - supporting the release of bracing patterns and the increase in regulation - which can help access and integrate early, pre-verbal layers and bring aliveness to areas that feel shut down, tense, or disconnected, as well as supporting the nervous system to find its way back to the restful state that gets lost in trauma.
“There is a voice that doesn't use words. Listen.”
— Rumi
My Therapies

Gestalt therapy is a relational and experiential approach that brings awareness to how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. It’s a therapy of presence, curiosity and connection. It recognises you as the expert of your own experience. Rather than analysing problems from the past, we explore what's happening right here, right now, in your body, emotions, and relationships.
What to expect
We work in the here-and-now to bring gentle awareness to what is alive right now and to notice what arises moment to moment—sensations, emotions, thoughts, patterns, behaviours. Through gentle experiments and present-moment awareness, we explore patterns and help you reclaim parts of yourself that may have been pushed away or disowned.
The relationship between us becomes a space to explore how you connect with others, helping you develop more authentic ways of being. Together, we create a space to meet the parts of you that may have been left behind or silenced. Gestalt therapy can help you become more fully yourself, with choice, aliveness and connection.
This helps with:
● Relationship difficulties and patterns
● Feeling disconnected from yourself
● Creative blocks and lost vitality
● Anxiety from avoiding experiences
● Depression involving suppressed emotions
● Building authentic self-expression

Trauma is not what happened to us. It is what happened inside of us in the absence of a supportive other, care and time to integrate. Somatic Experiencing recognises that trauma gets trapped in the body when the natural survival responses can't be completed. This approach works with your body's innate capacity to heal, supporting the gentle completion of interrupted fight, flight, or freeze responses and allowing the body to come back into equilibrium.
What to expect
I’ll help you develop awareness of subtle body sensations, working with your nervous system's natural rhythms. Through gentle tracking and small amounts of activation, we support the discharge of trapped survival energy and stress hormones safely, always at your body's pace.
You don't need to re-live traumatic experiences. We work with how trauma shows up in your body right now.
This helps with:
● Trauma recovery (recent and historical)
● Chronic anxiety and hypervigilance
● Panic attacks and overwhelming fear
● Feeling disconnected from your body
● Sleep difficulties and nervous system dysregulation
● Physical symptoms without a clear medical cause

EMDR helps your brain process traumatic memories that have become "frozen," reducing their emotional charge and physical impact. Using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, or tapping, this approach activates your brain's natural healing processes allowing the brain to integrate the memory with present safety, reducing its emotional charge and transforming it into a more adaptive, coherent form.
What to expect
After building your capacity for self-regulation, we'll work with specific memories using eye movements or gentle tapping. You never have to share details unless you choose to. I integrate EMDR with body-based approaches, always going at your pace and ensuring you feel safe throughout.
This helps with:
● Specific traumatic incidents
● PTSD and complex trauma symptoms
● Disturbing flashbacks or intrusive memories
● Phobias and intense fears
● Panic attacks triggered by memories
● Nightmares related to trauma

This somatic approach addresses trauma that affected the development of your nervous system itself, often from adverse early life experiences. We work with the foundational layers of your system to rebuild your capacity for resilience, regulation, and embodied presence.
What to expect
Through gentle awareness practices, I will guide you to work towards expanding your ability to tolerate sensation and emotion without becoming overwhelmed. When appropriate and with full consent, this may include healing touch to address places where your system learned contact wasn't safe.
We'll work with your organs, breathing, and deeper body systems to restore natural regulation, and to develop what we call “somatic capacity”: your ability to tolerate sensation, experience healthy boundaries, feel safe in your skin, and recover from activation without shutting down.
This work is subtle but profound. It supports your nervous system in doing what it was always meant to do: adapt, regulate, and connect with ease and integrity.
This helps with:
● Developmental trauma and complex PTSD
● Early attachment wounds
● Medical trauma from early life
● Chronic nervous system dysregulation
● Feeling unsafe in your body or relationships
● Difficulty with boundaries
● Chronic fatigue and unexplained symptoms

Gestalt Supervision is a relational practice that draws directly from the heart of Gestalt therapy – phenomenological inquiry, dialogical presence and field-sensitive thinking. Based on the Relational Matrix Model, I invite you into a supervisory process that is deeply present, contextually rich, ethically grounded and experientially alive.
What to expect
We focus on your immediate, lived experience as a practitioner, as well as your interactions with your clients, by attending to relational patterns that emerge in your client work and between us, using these as valuable information. It is a collaborative and experiential process that supports deepening awareness which enhances clinical practice.

— Fritz Perls
NDIS Support
I'm experienced in supporting NDIS participants with self-managed or plan-managed funding. If your plan includes therapeutic supports, you may be eligible to work with me under the NDIS. Many of my NDIS clients carry complex trauma that significantly impacts daily functioning, whether this is recognised in your plan or you're beginning to understand how past experiences affect you now.
My trauma-informed, nervous system-focused approach is particularly well-suited for addressing the root causes that influence wellbeing and capacity.
Please contact me to explore whether I might be a good fit for you.
Group therapy
I run Gestalt Therapy groups for people interested in healing in the rich environment of a group. Groups run both online and in person at The Wellspring, with a maximum of ten participants, and meet weekly for 90 minutes over ten weeks. Please reach out to learn about upcoming groups or to join the waitlist.
Getting started
Choosing a therapist is deeply personal. During our first sessions, you'll get a sense of how I work and whether this feels right for you. If it doesn't feel like the right fit, I'll do my best to refer you to someone who may be more aligned with what you're seeking.
I don't book initial appointments without first having a brief conversation. This gives us both the chance to get a sense of one another and ask any questions. It's part of ensuring we're well-matched in this deep and delicate work.
Investment
Individual sessions — Session fees are on a sliding scale between Aud$150–$190, allowing flexibility based on your circumstances.
Concession options — I offer a number of concession places for people holding a healthcare card, students, or those experiencing financial hardship. Please feel welcome to discuss your needs, as healing shouldn't be limited by financial constraints.
Cancellations
Life happens, and I understand that. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will be charged at the full session rate. For ongoing clients, I offer flexibility in cases of sudden illness or emergency—this is something we can work out together as part of our therapeutic relationship.
Crisis support
If you're experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact Lifeline (13 11 14), emergency services (000), or present to your local emergency department. f in Australia you may also contact your local CATT team.
